» Letter to the Editor: Circumstances prove that God isn’t fiction

Jun 11, 2023

Circumstances prove that God isn’t fictionThere was a nation of people held captive as slave labor by another, stronger nation. A man was sent by God to make the stronger nation release the slaves.Initially, the leader of the stronger nation mocked the man and refused his demands. As a result, God sent a series of natural disasters to give the strong nation the incentive to release the slaves. Most of these disasters are related to nature, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, and darkness. After a few of these disasters, the leader of the strong nation attempted to negotiate with the Man of God concerning the terms of the release. The final disaster was so profound that the strong nation not only freed the slaves, but sent them off with provisions, gold and silver. It is obvious that God may be using natural disasters to get our attention. All he needs to do is step back and let the evil take over. There are floods, excessive heat, crime, war, disease, earthquakes and other evils which seem to flourish today. Any intelligent person might get a hint that the more society rejects God, the more he steps back to allow society to contemplate their relationship with him. It’s time for all people to look upon present history and begin to view God as more than fiction. If you have a different opinion, then speak up before the present evil condemns us all.Mark BohneBroadalbin

Mark Bohne, you have proven nothing but that you believe in the factual accuracy of biblical myths.

Human activities are causing climate change and disasters. They are not occurring on demand by Jehovah to punish us. You believe, “It is obvious that God may be using natural disasters to get our attention.” Wouldn’t it make more sense for an all-powerful, loving God to appear in the sky, majestic figure you believe him to be, and give us a direct warning, leaving no doubt or confusion about who he is and what he wants?

You asked for others to, “speak up before the present evil condemns us all.” The present evil is the stubborn selfish, and ignorant refusal of people like you to accept science over fantastical fairy tales
